“In the day-to-day trenches of adult life, there is actually no such thing as atheism. There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship.”
David Foster Wallace
The Gathering

The Gathering Fall 2023.
Sunday, November 26, we will gather for a simple meal. As when family and friends come together, we will prepare food together and eat together.
3:00 Interested in the larger conversation? Join the Stakeholders Gathering at 3 p.m. to connect and plan together some of the amazing things percolating. In the lounge, Queens Avenue entrance.
4:30 Cook together. We move to the kitchen to share in the preparation of soft tacos or burritos.
5:30 Sharing a meal and conversations around what Krista Tippet calls Living the Questions. This is part 2 of the Onbeing.org Foundations for Being Alive conversations which you can hear or read here.
Email to youngsun@sanctuaryon6th.ca to let us know you’re coming, and how many. We’ll want to be sure to have plenty of food. Donations toward food costs will be gratefully accepted.

Central to the experience of Sanctuary on 6th Street is The Gathering where community gathers in a spirit of sacrament to share connection, food, conversation and something to deepen our time. That might be curated conversation, music, spoken word or something offered from the community. The Gathering is a monthly coming together of all cultures, for a time of sharing recognizing that we meet the Holy in each other.
Like the great pastor, John Shea has encouraged – we will “gather the folks, break the bread and tell the story.”
